MORRISANIA — A man strangled his girlfriend in his apartment and then left her body there for three days before going back and calling 911, according to court documents and the NYPD.
Roger Roberts, 53, strangled his 46-year-old girlfriend Milagros Rolon at 1209 Tinton Ave. around 2 a.m. Wednesday, but didn't call 911 until shortly before 8 a.m. Saturday, when he claimed he'd found her unconscious, police and prosecutors said.
Rolon, who lived in Morrisania, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. Her son had reported her missing the day she was strangled, police said.
Roberts, whose address is listed in Harlem, had been staying at the Tinton Avenue apartment for the past nine months, according to police.
He was arrested on charges of murder and manslaughter and was ordered held without bail, according to court documents.
Police said the couple had gotten into an argument before the fatal attack, but authorities would not elaborate on what the fight was about.
Roberts is due back in court on April 3, according to the Bronx District Attorney's office.
His lawyer Harry Forman declined to comment.
