LONG ISLAND CITY — Need to tune-up your secondhand bike with new parts, or want to build a set of wheels from the ground-up?

Cycling nonprofit Recycle-a-Bicycle is holding its first ever bike parts sale called "Bikes & Brews" at its Long Island City warehouse on April 11, where riders will be able to buy parts from a portion of the roughly 1,800 bicycles the group salvages each year.

"We generate a lot of parts," said Executive Director Karen Overton, who said the event was designed to give a second life to the extra pieces as New Yorkers get ready to ride their bikes in warmer weather.

Attendees will be able to pay $30 for a bag they can fill with as many bike parts as they can fit, including frames, saddles and brakes, plus accessories like bells and water bottle cages.

"This kind of show is perfect for the DIY, 'I'm going to build my own bike' kind of person," Overton said.

Shoppers will be able to sip beers from Rockaway Brewing Company next door, where there will also be an exhibit of historic and unusual bicycles — like a big-wheeled penny farthing — by the Bike Cult Show.

There will also be jewelry crafted from bike parts for sale, as well as art by Taliah Lempert, who makes paintings of bicycles.

The "Bikes & Brews" event will take place Saturday, April 11 from 12 to 6 p.m. at Recycle-a-Bicycle's Long Island City warehouse at 46-01 Fifth St.
