THE BRONX — A car accident Monday night in Claremont left one dead and two in critical condition, fire department officials said.

One person involved in the crash was pronounced dead by EMS workers after a car accident at 1420 Grand Concourse Avenue around 6:33 p.m., officials said.

Two victims were transported to area hospitals — one to Bronx-Lebanon Hospital and the other to Lincoln Medical Center — in critical condition, officials said.

It was unclear what caused the accident and officials did not have names or ages for the victims.
