Light flurries are expected to begin sometime between 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. and get progressively heavier as the day wears on.

"The evening commute could be a real sloppy mess," Brian Ciemnecki from the NWS said.

The city's Department of Sanitation issued a snow alert for the Friday's storm.

Skies should partially clear by late Friday night with some light showers expected for Saturday as temperatures stay in the forties, officials said.
