ARVERNE — An 18-year-old Brooklyn man was arrested for shooting a man in the face and killing him in the doorway of his apartment at a city housing complex, according to police.

Darnell Green allegedly shot 18-year-old Isaiah Lee in the face and chest at 12:47 p.m. on March 6, just after the victim opened the door to his second-floor apartment inside 71-15 Beach Channel Drive, the Carleton Manor complex, police said.

The two men knew each other and had an argument earlier that day, resulting in the shooting, according to police.

Green was arrested the day after the shooting and charged with second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child under 17, police said.

It wasn't immediately clear what the circumstances were that led to the child endangerment charge.

The incident is the second murder that's happened this year in the 100th Precinct, which has seen a 59 percent spike in overall crime over six years, according to NYPD statistics.
