UPPER EAST SIDE — Three masked bandits broke into a Lexington Avenue jewelry store by tunneling through the wall of a neighboring building lobby and snatching $150,000 worth of valuables, police said.

The thieves wore gloves and at least one sported a headlamp as they ransacked Torino Jewelers, at 767 Lexington Ave. between 60th and 61st Streets, about 1:05 a.m. on Feb. 23, the NYPD said. They got in by smashing through the wall from the next-door lobby, police said.

"They took a lot of stuff," said store manager Nancy Sinai, declining to elaborate. "They hit three showcases. We had to close for a day."

No one was injured in the burglary, and no arrests had been made as of Tuesday afternoon, police said.

"I hope they get caught," Sinai said. "They should go to jail and get punishment for what they did."

Police released surveillance footage of the burglary on Monday.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
