Subway Service Changes to Hit 10 Lines this Weekend

NEW YORK CITY — Constructions and maintenance will disrupt subway service across the city this weekend and straphangers should allow for additional time, the MTA said. 

Here's a breakdown by line: 

3 Line
3 trains will replace 4 trains in Brooklyn and will run express in Manhattan starting at 11:45 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday. They will operate to and from New Lots Avenue all weekend.

4 Line
4 trains will be suspended in both directions between Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall and New Lots Avenue starting at 11:45 p.m. on Friday until 5 a.m. Monday. Straphangers can take 2,3,N,Q or R trains instead. For service between Manhattan and Brooklyn, hop on a N, Q or R train and transfer between the 4 and 6 lines and the N, Q, R lines at 14th Street-Union Square or Canal Street.
For service to or from Wall Street and Bowling Green, take a R train at nearby Rector Street or Whitehall Street. For service to and from Fulton Street and between Borough Hall and Franklin Avenue, take the 2 or the 3. For service between Franklin Avenue and New Lots Avenue, take a 3 train.

5 Line
5 trains will be suspended in both directions between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and E.180th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday. 5 trains will operate every 20 minutes between E.180th Street and Grand Central-42nd Street, days and evenings only.
Free shuttle buses will operate all weekend between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and E.180th Street, stopping at Baychester Avenue, Gun Hill Road, Pelham Parkway, and Morris Park. Transfer between trains and shuttle buses at E.180th Street.

5 service will also be suspended in both directions between Grand Central-42nd Street and Bowling Green from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday and from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Sunday. Straphangers can a 4, 5 or R train instead. Trains will run every 20 minutes between E.180th Street and Grand Central-42nd Street.

6 Line
At all times until Spring 2015, 6 trains will skip Zerega Avenue and Buhre Avenue. For service to and from Zerega Avenue, use the Bx4. Shuttle buses connecting Zerega Avenue and Castle Hill Avenue will also be in service. Free transfer will be available with MetroCard.
For service to and from Buhre Avenue, use the Bx8, Bx24 or shuttle buses to connect between Buhre Avenue and Middletown Road. Free transfer will be available with MetroCard.
Brooklyn Bridge-City Hall bound 6 trains will run express from Parkchester to Hunts Point Avenue from 6:45 a.m. Saturday until 7 p.m. Sunday.

7 Line
7 trains will be suspended in both directions between Times Square-42nd Street and 74th Street-Broadway from 12:30 a.m. Saturday until 4:30 a.m. Monday. Use E, F, N or R trains for service between Manhattan and Queens. E trains will operate more frequently between Manhattan and Queens and the 42nd Street S shuttle will operate overnight.
Free shuttle buses will also be available between Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue and Queensboro Plaza, stopping at Hunters Point Avenue, Court Square, and Queens Plaza. There will also be free shuttle buses between Queensboro Plaza and 74th Street-Broadway, making stops at 33rd Street, 40th Street, 46th Street, 52nd Street, 61st-Woodside, and 69th Street.

A Line
Far Rockaway/Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard bound trains will skip Rockaway Boulevard at all times until Summer 2015. For service to this station, take a Far Rockaway-bound A train to Aqueduct-North Conduit Avenue or a Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train to 104th Street and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A train. For service from this station, take a Brooklyn-bound A train to 88th Street and transfer to Far Rockaway or Lefferts Boulevard-bound A.

Queens-bound A trains will run express from 168th Street to 125th Street from 10:45 p.m Friday until 6:30 a.m. Sunday and from 10:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

C Line
Euclid Avenue-bound C trains will run express from 168th Street to 125th Street from 6:30 a.m. until midnight Saturday and Sunday.

D Line 
Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue-bound D trains will be rerouted via the N line from 36th Street to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue from 3:45 a.m. Saturday until 10 p.m. Sunday. For service to 9th Avenue, Fort Hamilton Parkeway, 50th Street, 55th Street, 71st Street, 79th Street, 18th Avenue, 20th Avenue, Bay Parkeway, 25th Avenue, and Bay 50th Street, take a Coney Island-bound D to 62nd Street-New Utrecht Avenue or Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue and transfer to a Manhattan-bound D train. For service from these stations, take a Manhattan-bound D train to 62nd Street-New Utrecht Avenue or 36th Street and transfer to a Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue-bound D train.

D train will also run local in both direction West 4th Street-Washington Square and 34th Street-Herald Square from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.   

E Line
E trains will operate more frequently between Manhattan and Queens from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday.
The MTA said that straphangers traveling to Jamaica-Van Wyck, Sutphin Boulevard (AirTrain JFK), and Jamaica Center should look out for destination signs and listen to announcement as some E trains traveling from Manhattan are rerouted to the Jamaica-179th Street F Station.

S 42nd Street Shuttle
The 42nd Street S shuttle will operate overnight from 12:01 a.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
