Service Changes for 13 Subway Lines Slated for This Weekend

NEW YORK CITY — Get ready for more subway service changes this weekend.

The service modifications will affect the 3, 4, 5, 6, A, C, D, E, F, L, N, Q and R trains.

Here are the details. 

3 and 4 Trains:
3 trains will replace 4 trains service in Brooklyn and run express in Manhattan starting Friday night at 11:45 p.m. until Monday morning at 5 a.m. No 4 trains will run in Brooklyn. Use 2, 3, N, Q, or R trains for alternate service.

5 Train:
No 5 trains will run between Grand Central - 42nd Street and Bowling Green between 6 a.m. and 11 p.m. on Saturday and and 6:45 a.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday. You can use 4, 6 and R trains instead.

6 Train:

6 trains are running express in the Bronx between Parkchester and Hunts Point Avenue all weekend starting at 6:45 a.m. Saturday through Sunday evening at 7 p.m.

6 trains also skip Zerega Avenue and Buhre Avenue in both directions until the spring. Instead use the free shuttle buses or the Bx4 bus to connect between Zerega Avenue and Castle Hill Avenue. To get from Buhre Avenue to Middletown Road use the Bx8, Bx24 or free shuttle buses.

A train:

No A trains will run between Lefferts Boulevard and Rockaway Boulevard starting at late Friday night at 11:45 p.m. until 5 a.m. Monday morning. Free shuttle buses will be provided at 80th Street.

A trains headed for the Rockaways will skip Rockaway Boulevard until this summer.

Northbound A trains are also running express between Canal Street and 59th Street Columbus Circle overnight Friday and Saturday from 11:45 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. the next day, and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

C Train:

C trains are traveling on the F track between Jay Street Metro Tech and 34th Street- Herald Square and the D line between Herald Square and 59th Street Columbus Circle. The rerouting will occur between 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

D Train:

D trains won’t run between Coney Island - Stillwell Avenue and Bay Parkway between 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. F, Q, B1, B64, or B82 provide alternate service.


E Train:

Queens-bound E trains will run express between Canal Street and 34th Street - Penn Station starting at 11:45 p.m. on Friday through 5 a.m. Monday morning.

World Trade Center-bound trains also run express from from 71st Avenue in Queens until Queens Plaza. That’s from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and 11:45 p.m. Sunday until 5 a.m. Monday.

Finally E trains heading to Jamaica Center run local from Roosevelt Av to 71 Av starting at 12:01 a.m. Saturday until 5 a.m. Monday.

F Train:

Coney Island-bound F trains run express between Smith-9 Sts and Avenue X starting at 11:45 p.m. Friday, until 8 p.m. Sunday.

Jamaica-bound F trains will run local from Roosevelt Avenue to 71st Avenue between 12:01 a.m. Saturday and 5 a.m. Monday.

L Train:


No L trains will run between 8th Avenue and 14th Street- Union Square starting on Friday at 11:45 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. on Monday morning.

N Train:


No N trains will run between Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue and 86 Street starting at 5:30 a.m. Saturday until  to 8 p.m. Sunday. You can take the F, Q, B1 or B4 buses.

Q Train:


Coney Island-bound Q trains will run express between Prospect Park and Kings Highway starting at 11:15 p.m. on Friday until 5 a.m. Monday morning.

R Train:


Bay Ridge-bound R trains will run express between 71st Avenue to Queens Plaza starting at 5:30 a.m. Saturday and 11 p.m. Sunday night.
