WILLETS POINT — They want a piece of the ferry action.
Queens politicians are bringing back a push for commuter ferry service out of Fort Totten and Citi Field after Mayor Bill de Blasio announced his five-borough boat plan at Tuesday's State of the City, according to a letter sent by Councilman Paul Vallone.
Vallone, who represents Bayside, penned the letter to the Economic Development Corporation with colleagues Peter Koo and Julissa Ferreras last year — and is sending it again now that the city is focused on better water transportation.

The infrastructure, including a landing and parking, are already in place at the marina. And a boat could help the crowded 7 train, Vallone said.
"Ferry service would also help alleviate the pressure exerted upon the number 7 subway line due to its high volume of ridership," he wrote.
Vallone said he was "disappointed" the new proposed routes — which include trips from Astoria and Rockaway Beach in Queens — didn't include any for the northeast part of the borough.
"I will continue to push for ferry service out of Fort Totten and the Citi Field Marina, which would go a long way to combat the lack of transportation alternatives for those living in Northeast Queens," he said in a statement.
A spokesman for the mayor's office, Wiley Norvell, said the proposed routes are just the beginning.
"This plan is for our first iteration of new service and certainly doesn’t preclude us from looking at future locations beyond the 2018 timeframe," he said.
