3 Teens Wearing Ski Masks Attack Woman for Her Bag in TriBeCa: Police

TRIBECA — A woman was attacked by three teens wearing ski masks after she refused to give up her handbag, police said.

The 21-year-old victim was walking along the corner of Harrison and Greenwich Streets at about 7:45 p.m. on Feb. 1 when the three young men surrounded her, police said.

The teens starting grabbing for her bag, and when she pulled back, one of the men punched her in the arm, according to police reports.

The men managed to snatch her purse, but were later caught by police.

The teens, two 16-year-olds and a 17-year-old, were each charged with second-degree robbery.

Other notable crimes in this week's 1st Precinct crime blotter include:

► A 28-year-old woman had her Samsung Galaxy Note 4 cellphone swiped from her hands as she was heading out of the Wall Street 2 train station, police said. As the woman was about to exit through the turnstiles on Jan. 29 at about 8:25 a.m., a man grabbed the phone from her hands, then ran off. She tried to chase him, but lost him on the platform, she said.

► A man stole two pairs of leather pants, worth a total of $1,790, from Club Monaco at 121 Prince St. at about 7:45 p.m. on Jan. 29, police said. The man grabbed the pants, then ran out of the store, police said. Club Monaco did not immediately return a request for comment.
