PARK SLOPE — A rare bike worth $13,000 was stolen from a Park Slope home, according to a police report.

A Guru Photon DI2 bicycle was swiped Jan. 15 from a townhouse on First Street near Eighth Avenue, according to the report. The bike's 44-year-old owner was at work when the pricey bike was stolen out of the home's basement, which was unlocked because it was under renovation, according to the report.

Guru bikes are handcrafted in a small factory in Canada, said Dan Chabanov, a coach at Endurance Werx, one of the city's three authorized Guru dealers.

The DI2 version has push-button electronic gear shifting and is made of lightweight carbon fiber. With a full set of custom features, the Guru Photon's pricetag can easily compete with that of a 2015 Ford Fiesta.

“You start with a $4,000 or $5,000 frame set, wheels can run between $1,600 and $4,000, the drive train parts are another $2,000, throw a power meter on for $1,500 to $3,000,” Chabanov said. “I hate to say it, but the bike industry is at the point where if you’re buying something high-end, it’s five digits."

Other notable crimes in this week's blotter at the 78th Precinct included the following, with details from police reports:

The 21-year-old victim was at the Barclays Center-Atlantic Avenue subway station about 10:15 p.m. on Jan. 22 when Dwight McLauglin, 46, pulled her iPhone 6 out of her back pocket. She turned around in time to catch McLauglin, but when she confronted him, he dropped the phone and kicked it onto the subway tracks.
