Service Changes to Hit 11 Subway Lines This Weekend

NEW YORK CITY — Several subway service changes are set to go into effect late Friday night and last until early Monday. Trains on the 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, A, F will be affected by the modifications.

Of the service changes, L trains won't run between Eighth Avenue and 14th Street, 7 trains won't run between Queens and Manhattan and 3 trains will not be running at all.

2 Train:

Between 11:30 p.m. Friday and 5:00 a.m. Sunday, 2 train service is stopped going in both directions between 3rd Avenue-149th Street and 96th Street. Shuttle buses will operate between the two stops, one running directly from 3 Av-149 St to 96 Street and one making local stops at 149 St-Grand Concourse, 145 St, 135 St, 125 St, 116 St, and 110 St.

3 Train:

There is no 3 train service from 11:30 p.m. on Friday to 5 a.m. Sunday. The 2 trains will make 3 train stops in Manhattan and 4 trains will make 3 train stops in Brooklyn.

4 Train:

From 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. on Sunday, 4 trains will run local in Brooklyn and service extends to New Lots Ave.

5 Train:

Saturday, from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. 5 trains won't run between East 180th Street and Bowling Green. You can take the 2 or the 4 instead. From 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday 5 trains will start running again every 20 minutes but only between Eastchester-Dyre Ave and Bowling Green. Shuttles will run all weekend between Eastchester-Dyre and E 180 St. 

6 Train:

6 trains won't stop at either Zerega Ave or Buhre Ave in the Bronx in either direct at any time until April of this year.

7 Train:

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 4:30 a.m. Monday, 7 trains will not run between Times Square and Queensboro Plaza. Take E, F, N or Q trains between Manhattan and Queens instead. Free shuttle buses will run between Vernon Boulevard and Queensboro Plaza. 

A Train:

Starting Saturday at midnight to 5 a.m. Monday, south-bound A trains will run local from Columbus Circle to West 4 Street and north-bound trains will run local between Canal Street and Columbus Circle. Until Monday at 5 a.m. east-bound A trains in Queens will skip 104th Street and 88th Street. 

F Train:

From 9:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, Queens-bound trains will travel on the M line between Rockefeller Center and Roosevelt Avenue. 

L Train:

From 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5:00 a.m. Monday, L trains won't run between Eighth Avenue and Union Square. M14 buses run between the two stops as usual. 

Q Train: 

Between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. Saturday and between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday, Q train service is extended to Astoria-Ditmars Blvd. 

42nd Street Shuttle:

The shuttle between Times Square and Grand Central is operating overnight Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
