Man Shot in Back 4 Times on Rivington Street, Police Say

LOWER EAST SIDE — A 22-year-old man is fighting for his life after he was shot four times in the back Monday night, police said.

Police said the man was walking in front of 203 Rivington St. at approximately 7:03 p.m. when the gunman approached him from behind and fired four times. The victim was taken to Bellevue Hospital Center, where he was in critical condition, according to the NYPD.

Police are currently looking for a “person of interest” — a man seen in a video released by police wearing white sneakers and a black jacket — to question about the incident, according to the NYPD.
