MIDTOWN — Your subway ride is about to get more expensive.

The MTA voted on Thursday to increase MetroCard fares. Beginning in March, the cost of unlimited monthly cards for subways and buses will go up to $116.50 from $112. Seven-day cards will go up from $30 to $31, and the single-ride fare will rise from $2.50 to $2.75.

MTA Chairman Thomas Prendergast called the fare hikes necessary to keep the transit system in good repair.
