TRIBECA — A man broke into upscale Mexican restaurant Añejo by smashing its front glass door with a fire hydrant cap, police said.

Police said the man smashed through the door of the 301 Church St. eatery at 12:41 a.m. on Jan. 6. Once inside, the suspect looked around the space, then fled empty-handed.

The restaurant declined to comment.

Police released surveillance footage of the suspect, who appeared to be wearing a jacket and a light-colored hat.
