12 Subway Lines Slated for Service Changes This Weekend

MIDTOWN — If you're sticking to New Year's resolutions and are planning a trip to the gym or greenmarket this weekend, look out for these MTA service changes, which will hit 12 lines. 

Here is your breakdown of the changes by line:

4 Line: Trains will run in two sections, between Woodlawn and 125th Street and between 125th Street and Utica/New Lots Avenue from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Woodlawn-bound trains will skip 138th-Grand Concourse from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

5 Line: Service will be suspended in both directions between East 180th Street and Bowling Green from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Riders can take the 2 or 4 trains instead. Shuttle trains will also run all weekend between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and East 180th Street.

6 Line: Trains will run every 16 minutes between Parkchester and Pelham Bay Park from 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday. The last stop for some trains headed toward Pelham Bay Park will be Parkchester.

There is no service at Zerega Avenue and Buhre Avenue in both directions at all times until February 2015.

For service to and from Zerega Avenue, riders can take the Bx4 or shuttle buses.

For service to and from Buhre Avenue, riders can use the Bx8, Bx24 or shuttle buses.

7 Line: There will be no service between Times Square and Queensboro Plaza from 2 a.m. Saturday to 4:30 a.m. Monday. Riders can take the E, F, N or Q trains instead for service between Manhattan and Queens.

Free shuttle buses will make all stops between Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue and Queensboro Plaza. The 42nd Street shuttle will operate overnight. And Q services will be extended to Ditmars Boulevard from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday.

Trains will run express from Queensboro Plaza to 74th Street-Broadway from 2 a.m. Saturday to 4:30 a.m. Monday.

A Line: Downtown trains will run express from 59th Street-Columbus Circle to Canal Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Sunday and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Manhattan-bound trains will skip 104th Street-Oxford Avenue and 88th Street-Boyd Avenue in Queens until February.

Manhattan-bound riders traveling to 104th Street will have to go to Rockaway Boulevard and then transfer to a Lefferts Boulevard-bound train. People traveling from 104th Street will have to go one stop east to 111th Street to catch a Manhattan-bound train.

People traveling toward Manhattan to 88th Street will have to ride to 80th Street and transfer to either a Lefferts-bound or Rockaway-bound train. Riders traveling from 88th Street can go one stop east to Rockaway Boulevard on a Lefferts-bound or Rockaway-bound train to transfer to a Manhattan-bound train.

C Line: Downtown trains will run express from 59th Street-Columbus Circle to Canal Street from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Trains will run every 15 minutes.

D Line: Coney Island-bound trains will be rerouted over the N line from 36th Street in Brooklyn to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

For service to local D stations, riders can take a Coney Island-bound train to 62nd Street-New Utrecht Avenue or Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue and transfer to a Manhattan-bound D train.

For service from the local stations, riders can take a Manhattan-bound D train to 62nd Street-New Utrecht Avenue or 36th Street and transfer to a Coney Island-bound train.

E Line: World Trade Center-bound trains will run express in both directions between 34th Street-Penn Station and Canal Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Service will be suspended in both directions between Jamaica Center Parsons-Archer and Briarwood-Van Wyck Boulevard from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Free shuttle buses will operate between Jamaica Center and Union Turnpike, making stops at Sutphin Boulevard-Archer Avenue, Jamaica-Van Wyck and Briarwood-Van Wyck Boulevard.

F Line: Brooklyn-bound trains will be rerouted over the M line from Roosevelt Avenue to 47-50th Streets-Rockefeller Center from 11:15 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Queens-bound trains will run express from Avenue X to Smith-9th Streets from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Trains will not stop at Lexington Avenue-63rd Street from 9:45 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday. For service to and from the station use the nearby Lexington Avenue-59th Street station instead from 9:45 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday.

L Line: Service is suspended in both directions between 8th Avenue and 14th Street-Union Square from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Service will run normally between 14th Street-Union Square and Canarsie-Rockaway Parkway. The M14 bus will provide alternate service.

Q Line: Coney Island-bound trains will run express from Prospect Park to Sheepshead Bay from 5:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

Service will be extended to Astoria-Ditmars Boulevard from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

42nd Street Shuttle: Trains will run overnight from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Monday.
