Girl Bashes Classmate in Head for Passing Gas Near Her, Authorities Say

TOTTENVILLE — A girl bashed a 15-year-old classmate in the head with a metal stool and repeatedly punched him in the face for breaking wind near her inside a Staten Island high school, prosecutors said.

Joquasha Rosado, 17, was arrested on Jan. 5 after she beat the boy in the head with the stool and her fists inside South Richmond High School, at 6581 Hylan Blvd., around 2:10 p.m., according to court papers.

The victim was taken to Staten Island University Hospital where he received eight staples in his head to close the wound, court papers read.

Rosado was charged with assault, criminal possession of a weapon and harassment at her arraignment. She was released without bail and is due back in court on Feb. 25, according to online court records.

Her lawyer did not respond to a request for comment.

Other notable arrests in Staten Island include:

► A woman threw paint on her boyfriend's car then smashed the windshield and a window of his house, a law enforcement source said.

On New Year's Day, Michelle Perez, 29, poured paint on the hood of her 41-year-old boyfriend's car parked off Fayette Avenue around 3 a.m., according to the source and court papers.

Perez then broke the windshield of the car and a window in his home with an unknown object, court papers read.

She was arrested on Jan. 7 and charged with criminal mischief at her arraignment, according to court papers. Perez was released without bail with an order of protection and is due back in court on March 5, according to online court records.

Her lawyer could not be reached for comment.

► A girl punched a school safety officer as he was trying to break up a fight, according to court papers.

Taiwo Oguntoyinbo, 16, punched the 25-year-old female school safety officer in the eye as the officer broke up a fight at Curtis High School on Wednesday, court papers read.

Oguntoyinbo was charged with assault, harassment and obstructing governmental administration at her arraignment and was released without bail. She's due back in court on March 4, according to court records.

Her lawyer did not respond to a request for comment.
