CROWN HEIGHTS — The pair behind the alcohol-infused dessert company Butter & Scotch are opening their new Franklin Avenue storefront this week to serve a one-time-only dessert and cocktail pairing as a taste of their upcoming menu.

The “soft, preview-style opening” of the Smorgasburg regulars will start on Monday, Jan. 5 and end on Friday, Jan. 9 said Allison Kave, co-owner of the shop with business partner, Keavy Blueher.

From 7 to 9 p.m. each day, the two will serve slices of “king cake” made with cinnamon, lime zest and Espolon Anejo tequila glaze. The cake will be served with a cocktail made with tequila, ginger-lime syrup and Bittermens “Tiki” bitters, she said. The pairing costs $15.

The two have not yet determined when Butter & Scotch will officially open, but said their full menu will be completed in the next two weeks.

Kave and Blueher first announced the company’s move to Franklin Avenue in April. They plan to serve seasonal cocktails, freshly baked pastries and coffee at the new shop located at 818 Franklin Ave. near Union Street.
