RED HOOK — A new year-round “point-to-point” ferry service will let riders travel from Red Hook to Midtown and DUMBO for $9 a trip, officials announced Tuesday.

The new expanded service from New York Water Taxi will take riders on shorter trips that will complement the company's existing all-day pass, which connects Midtown, DUMBO, Lower Manhattan and Red Hook.

The ferry will travel to and from Red Hook’s Van Brunt dock and West 39th Street in Midtown and DUMBO.

The popular Ikea express ferry is still available for $5 between Red Hook and Lower Manhattan.

Officials said the expanded service builds upon the “continued success” of the Ikea ferry and New York Water Taxi’s free weekend summer ferry service that ended on Labor Day, which “saw increased ridership between lower Manhattan and Red Hook from its inaugural year,” according to a statement.

“The program’s success allowed New York Water Taxi to expand the connection to Midtown and account for a broader swath of commuters and visitors.”

Ferries arrive at Red Hook every hour and a half. For the full schedule, click here.
