BROOKLYN — A thief has targeted nearly a dozen Brooklyn churches since Oct. 17, making off with three laptops, a digital camera and more than $200 — using tactics that even involved breaking through a wall, police said.

Most recently, the suspect tried to steal from Zion Lutheran Church at 6307 4th Ave., near 63rd Street, in Sunset Park, about 10 p.m. Nov. 8, but fled the scene empty-handed, according to the NYPD.

Investigators did not provide a description of the suspect, who left a green jacket behind.

The incident comes after the thief knocked off seven churches in Bay Ridge, Sunset Park and Bensonhurst between Oct. 17 and Nov. 8 , police said.

The thief also attempted to burglarize three other churches, but left with nothing, police said.

The suspect first broke through a wall at St. Mary's Antiochian Church at 192 81st St., near Ridge Boulevard, about 3 p.m. Oct. 17 and stole money inside, according to the NYPD.

The burglar accessed the other houses of worship through windows and doors, police said.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
