Men Steal $2K in Cash After Spraying Woman in the Face, Police Say

EAST VILLAGE — Two men stole $2,000 in cash from a 21-year-old woman after spraying her in the face with an unknown substance, police said.

Police said the men approached the victim in front of 208 E. 10th St. near Second Avenue at about 10:15 a.m. on Nov. 17 and grabbed her knapsack, which contained the cash.

When she resisted, they sprayed her in the face and fled with the property, police said. The woman was not taken to the hospital, according to the NYPD.

Police said the men were between 20 and 30 years old, had close-cut beards and were about 6 feet tall.

One weighed approximately 200 pounds and was last seen wearing a black puffy jacket and blue jeans, police said. The other had a thin build and was last seen wearing a black jacket, hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans, according to the NYPD.
