CORONA — A pregnant woman was shot and killed Wednesday in her LeFrak City building's hallway in what may have been a hit connected to a court case, officials and sources said.

Doctors delivered the baby, but the infant later died.

Anastasia Massey, 27, had just returned home from bringing her children to nearby P.S. 206 at 8:30 a.m. when she was shot in the chest and arm in the hallway of 98-15 Horace Harding Expressway.

She was a witness in a domestic violence case against her 39-year-old uncle, and sources said detectives want to talk to him to see if that was a possible motive for Massey's murder.

"This does not appear to be a random case," a source said.

Massey was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital, where emergency room doctors delivered her baby, a source said.

It was not clear how far along she was in her pregnancy.

Her husband was home and heard the shots from inside their apartment, a source said.

The suspect may have been waiting for her in the hall to return after dropping her kids off, which she did every day, according to a law enforcement source.

Administrators at P.S. 206, where Massey's children attended school, were too distraught to speak Wednesday afternoon.
