LONG ISLAND CITY — Urban Market, a grocery store from the company behind Key Food, opened its latest outpost in Hunters Point this month, offering organic produce and a selection of cheeses and prepared foods, according to an announcement.

The supermarket opened its doors Nov. 14 at 50th Avenue and 2nd Street, in an 8,000-square-foot space on the ground floor of apartment building Gantry Park Landing. It is now the second grocery store in the waterfront area, joining Food Cellar at 4-85 47th Rd.

"As we become a new member of the Long Island City community, I look forward to offering customers not only the best selection, but also the best customer service experience around," store owner Sam Mujalli said in a press release from Key Food Stores Co-operative, Inc.

This is the second location for Urban Market, with the first having opened in Williamsburg last year.

The Long Island City store will offer a produce selection with both organic and regular fruits and vegetables, cheeses from around the world and a deli department that caters, according to an announcement. It will also offer grocery delivery.

The store has received some positive online reviews from locals so far.

"Great prices, great variety, and fresh produce," one user wrote on Yelp. "How can you go wrong?!"

The supermarket is open 7 a.m to 11 p.m. seven days a week.
