SOUTH STREET SEAPORT — Maryland blue crabs, lobster rolls and craft cocktails are on the way to the Seaport.

TriBeCa restaurant and bar The Hideaway is bringing its cozy feel — and crab boil nights — to the landmarked 22 Peck Slip, former home of longtime Seaport bar Meade's, said owner Justin Palmer. The bar plans to open before Thanksgiving.

"We're hoping to bring some more love and positivity to the Seaport," said Palmer, 45, who's lived in the neighborhood for several years. "This area is still growing and changing, and we feel pretty happy to be a part of that."

This is the second outpost for the bar, which has become known for its seasonal Maryland blue crab boils at 185 Duane St.

A couple of times a week, from May to September, The Hideaway boils up the tasty crabs, from Palmer's home state.

When not cooking up those crustaceans, the eatery also offers lobster rolls and other upscale pub fare, including grass-fed beef burgers.

Palmer said the menus at the two locations will be similar.

The Hideaway also serves quirky signature cocktails, which change seasonally, include the Chesapeake Mary, made from cucumber vodka, Old Bay seasoning and cured pickles.

"We're a laid-back place with good food and good rock-and-roll music," Palmer said. "We want to be a warm, neighborhood place, where you're escaping some of the hardships of the daily grind."

They plan to open from 11 a.m. to midnight daily.
