THE BRONX — A pedestrian was critically injured Thursday night when an MTA bus hit him in Claremont Village, officials said.

The man, whose name and age were not immediately released, was crossing the intersection of Vyse Avenue and East 174th Street about 9 p.m. when the passenger's side of a Bx36 bus struck him, according to an MTA spokesman.

He was taken to St. Barnabas Hospital in critical condition, an FDNY spokesman said.

An NYPD spokesman had no additional information about the crash.
