GREENPOINT — A man in a blue surgical mask threatened to shoot a 7-Eleven clerk unless the employee handed over $3,000 worth of money orders, police said.

The clerk was changing the garbage behind the counter at the convenience store at 883 Manhattan Ave. on Oct. 27 about 8:45 p.m. when the suspect walked in, police said.

The suspect, described as about 25 years old, was wearing a blue surgical mask and said, "I want $2,900 worth of money orders. Don't push the button, I will shoot," police said. It was unclear if he actually had a gun.

The employee printed out six money orders totaling $3,000, police said. When the clerk went to push an alarm to alert authorities, the suspect had already run off.

7-Eleven declined to comment when reached by phone. No one has been arrested in the incident, police added.

Other notable incidents in the 94th precinct include:

On her way to the front door, a man grabbed her from behind and threw her to the ground, injuring her right elbow, police said.

The man then took off her iPad, a camera and her passport, police said. No one has been arrested in the incident.
