MANHATTAN — A cat burglar that police believed to be responsible for stealing “high-end” electronics from 10 East Village apartments since this summer was caught on surveillance camera sneaking up a victim's fire escape.

The accused thief, who first struck on July 25 when he robbed an apartment on Second Avenue, can be clearly seen in a photo released by police wearing a gray long-sleeved shirt and a gray hoodie vest.

He then robbed four more apartments in August, police said.

In September he climbed through the windows of apartments on East Sixth and East Seventh streets, according to the NYPD.

Last month he broke into an apartment on East Fifth Street on Oct. 6 and two East Seventh Street apartments on Oct. 15 and Oct. 20, the police spokesman added.

The camera caught him during the Oct. 20 burglary.
