Some Shops Ban Customers Wearing Hoodies or Masks
Shop owners in Harlem and Brooklyn have started posting signs barring people wearing hoodies or masks from entering their stores. While business owners argue the signs are a way to stop shoplifting, some residents say they are offensive and racially charged.

A computer technician working at the city Health Department IT desk got suspended after his boss complained he continuously used a robot voice when answering customer service calls. The employee said he was just articulating each word because he usually "speaks fast and has a Brooklyn accent."

Canine-Friendly Bar Forced to Ban dogs After City Crackdown
The Gate, a Park Slope dog-friendly bar for almost 20 years, had to post a “sorry no dogs" sign after a Department of Health inspector fined the owner for allowing pups inside. The Gate’s owner is hoping to collect support statements from local canine-friendly organizations to fight the city’s decision.

City to Clear Homeless From Upper West Side Park
The Department of Homeless Services plans to clear Verdi Square of its homeless population within the next three months. Parks Enforcement Patrol Officers will force the homeless people staying at the public plaza near the 72nd Street subway station to leave after 1 a.m., the square's official closing time.
