MIDTOWN — There are sure to be more people than usual walking around the city this weekend in strange costumes because of Halloween. But the scariest thing you face just might be the 17 subway lines slated for service changes Friday night through Monday morning.

Here is your breakdown of the changes by line:

1 Line: Service will be suspended in both directions between 96th Street and Van Cortlandt Park-242nd Street from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. A and C trains and the M3 bus will provide alternate service.

2 Line: Flatbush Avenue-bound trains will run express from Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center to Franklin Avenue from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

3 Line: New Lots Avenue-bound trains will run express from Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center to Franklin Avenue from 6 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

4 Line: Uptown trains will run express from 14th Street-Union Square to Grand Central-42nd Street from 11:45 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday night and Saturday night and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Downtown trains will run local between 125th Street and Grand Central-42nd Street from 11 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday and from 11 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

New Lots-bound trains will run express from Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center to Franklin Avenue from 11:45 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday night and Saturday night and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

5 Line: Service will be suspended in both directions between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and East 180th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Free shuttle buses will provide service, making stops at Baychester Avenue, Gun Hill Road, Pelham Parkway and Morris Park.

Trains will run every 20 minutes between East 180th Street and Bowling Green.

6 Line: Uptown trains will run express from 14th Street-Union Square to Grand Central-42nd Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Downtown trains will run express from Hunters Point Avenue to 3rd Avenue-138th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Trains will run every 16 minutes between Parkchester and Pelham Bay Park in The Bronx from 7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.

There is no service at Zerega Avenue and Buhre Avenue in both directions at all times until February 2015.

For service to and from Zerega Avenue, riders can take the Bx4 or shuttle buses.

For service to and from Buhre Avenue, riders can use the Bx8, Bx24 or shuttle buses.

7 Line: Service will operate in two sections: between Times Square-42nd Street and Mets-Willets Point and between Mets-Willets Point and Flushing-Main Street from 12:01 a.m. to 5 a.m. Saturday and from 12:01 a.m. to 7 a.m. Sunday.

Mets-Willets Point-bound trains will run express from Queensboro Plaza to 74th Street-Broadway from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday.

A Line: Uptown trains will run express from Canal Street to 59th Street-Columbus Circle from 11:45 p.m. to 6 a.m. Friday night and Saturday night and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Manhattan-bound trains will skip 104th Street-Oxford Avenue and 88th Street-Boyd Avenue in Queens until January.

Manhattan-bound riders traveling to 104th Street will have to go to Rockaway Boulevard and then transfer to a Lefferts Boulevard-bound train. People traveling from 104th Street will have to go one stop east to 111th Street to catch a Manhattan-bound train.

People traveling toward Manhattan to 88th Street will have to ride to 80th Street and transfer to either a Lefferts-bound or Rockaway-bound train. Riders traveling from 88th Street can go one stop east to Rockaway boulevard on a Lefferts-bound or Rockaway-bound train to transfer to a Manhattan-bound train.

C Line: Uptown trains will run express from Canal Street to 59th Street-Columbus Circle from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

E Line: Jamaica Center-bound trains will run express from Queens Plaza to Roosevelt Avenue from 12:15 a.m. to 6:30 a.m. Saturday and Sunday.

D Line: Uptown trains will run express from 145th Street to Tremont Avenue from 10:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Coney Island-bound trains will be rerouted over the N line from 36th Street in Brooklyn to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

F Line: Uptown trains will be rerouted over the A line from Jay Street-MetroTech to West 4th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

G Train: Service will operate every 20 minutes between Long Island City-Court Square and Bedford-Nostrand Avenues from 5:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. The last stop on some Queens-bound trains will be Bedford-Nostrand. Riders will then have to transfer to another Court Square-bound train.

N Line: Coney Island-bound trains will be rerouted over the D line from 36th Street in Brooklyn to Stillwell Avenue from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Q Line: Manhattan-bound trains will run express from Kings Highway to Prospect Park from 10:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

R Line: Forest Hills-bound trains will run express from Queens Plaza to Roosevelt Avenue from 6:30 a.m. to 12:15 a.m. Saturday to early Sunday and Sunday to early Monday.  

Franklin Avenue Shuttle: Service will operate every 24 minutes from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.
