RIDGEWOOD — A man was hit and killed by a city bus while crossing a busy Queens intersection Thursday morning, police said.

The unidentified pedestrian, believed to be in his 40s, was crossing Palmetto Street at Myrtle Avenue in Ridgewood when a city bus turning east onto Palmetto Street clipped him with its back wheels around 5:10 a.m., the NYPD said.

The man was taken to Wyckoff Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the bus remained on the scene, police said. Nobody had been arrested and police said their investigation was ongoing.
