THE BRONX — A serial phone snatcher has robbed seven people of their mobile devices in Williamsbridge over the past six weeks, the NYPD said.

In each incident, the suspect said he had a gun or a knife, grabbed the phone and fled, police said.

On Sept. 25, the thief snatched a phone from a 12-year-old girl on Bronxwood Avenue and Tilden Street around 5 p.m., the NYPD said.

From Oct. 1 to Oct. 14, he robbed five people, including two 14-year-old girls on Oct. 3 and Oct. 6, and attempted to rob a sixth but failed, police said.

From Oct. 21 to Oct. 23, he tried to rob three others but failed in each attempt, police said.

On Oct. 26, he snatched a phone from a 16-year-old girl on East Gun Hill Road and Lurting Avenue around 8:30 p.m., police said.

The thief, who is thought to be in his teens, targeted females in all but one of his attempts.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
