LOWER EAST SIDE — An Ethiopian nun visiting the city went missing after leaving a Jackson Street convent last week, police said.

Tadelech Yohanis, 30, was last seen leaving Sacred Heart Convent, located on the corner of Jackson and Water streets, with her passport at 2 p.m. on Oct. 23, police said.

She had arrived earlier this month, police said, and was scheduled to leave the country on Oct. 26 but had not returned to the convent, according to the NYPD.

It was not immediately clear why she left the convent, police said.

Sacred Heart Convent declined to give details about Yohanis’ disappearance.

“All I can comment is that we’re working with the local police,” a receptionist said.

Police said Yohanis is 5-foot-9 and weighs about 150 pounds.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
