Service Changes Hit 15 Train Lines This Weekend

NEW YORK — Service changes will affect 15 train lines this weekend, as workers repair and maintain equipment, the MTA said.

Here is a breakdown of service changes by line:

2 Line: Flatbush Avenue-Brooklyn College-bound 2 trains will run express from Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center to Franklin Avenue from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

3 Line: New Lots Avenue-bound 3 trains will run express from Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center to Franklin Avenue from 6 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

4 Line: New Lots Avenue-bound 4 trains will run local between 125th Street and Grand Central-42nd Street from 11 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday, and from 11 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Brooklyn-bound 4 trains will run express from Grand Central-42nd Street to 14 Street-Union Square from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Sunday, and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

New Lots Avenue-bound 4 trains will run express from Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center to Franklin Avenue from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Sunday, and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Woodlawn-bound 4 trains will skip Fulton Street from 4:45 a.m. to 10 a.m. Sunday.

5 Line: 5 trains will be suspended in both directions between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and East 180th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Free shuttle buses will operate all weekend between Eastchester-Dyre Avenue and East 180th Street, stopping at Baychester Avenue, Gun Hill Road, Pelham Parkway and Morris Park.

Service on the 5 line will operate every 20 minutes between East 180th Street and Bowling Green days and evenings only.

From 7:45 a.m. to 10 a.m. Sunday, East 180th Street-bound 5 trains will skip Fulton Street.

6 Line: Brooklyn Bridge-bound 6 trains will run express from Grand Central-42nd Street to 14th Street-Union Square from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

At all times until February 2015, 6 trains will skip Zerega Avenue and Buhre Avenue in both directions.

► For service to/from Zerega Avenue, use the Bx4 or shuttle buses to connect to Castle Hill Avenue.

► For service to/from Buhre Avenue, use the Bx8, Bx24 or shuttle buses to connect to Middletown Road.

7 Line: 7 trains will be suspended between Times Square-42nd Street and Queensboro Plaza from 2 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday. To travel between Manhattan and Queens, use E, F, N and Q trains. Free shuttle buses will make all stops between Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue and Queensboro Plaza. 

The 42nd Street Shuttle will operate overnight to provide additional service, and Q service will be extended to Ditmars Boulevard from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. 

From 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, service on the 7 line will run less frequently than usual between Queensboro Plaza and 74th Street-Broadway. The last stop for some Queensboro Plaza-bound 7 trains will be 74th Street-Broadway.

A Line: Inwood-207th Street-bound A trains will be rerouted via the F line from Jay Street-MetroTech to West 4th Street-Washington Square from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Trains will then run on the local track to 59th Street-Columbus Circle.

At all times until January 2015, Inwood-207th Street-bound A trains will skip 104th Street and 88th Street.

► For service to 104th Street, take a Brooklyn-bound A train to Rockaway Boulevard and transfer to an Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard-bound A. For service from 104th Street, take an Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard-bound A train to 111th Street or Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A.

► For service to 88th Street, take a Brooklyn-bound A train to 80th Street and transfer to a Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue or Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard-bound A. From 88th Street, take a Far Rockaway-Mott Avenue or Ozone Park-Lefferts Boulevard-bound A to Rockaway Boulevard and transfer to a Brooklyn-bound A.

C Line: 168th Street-bound C trains will be rerouted via the F line from Jay Street-MetroTech to West 4th Street-Washington Square from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

D Line: Norwood-205th Street-bound D trains will run express from 145th Street to Tremont Avenue from 10:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue-bound D trains will be rerouted on the N line from 36th Street to Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue-bound D trains will run local between DeKalb Avenue and 36th Street from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

E Line: Jamaica Center-Parsons Archer-bound E trains will run express from Canal Street to 34th Street-Penn Station from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

F Line: Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue-bound F trains will be rerouted via the M line from Roosevelt Avenue to 47th-50th Streets/Rockefeller Center from 11:15 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

N Line: Astoria-Ditmars Boulevard-bound N trains will be rerouted via the D line from Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue to 36th Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

N trains will run local from DeKalb Avenue and 36th Street from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Q Line: Q trains will be suspended in both directions between Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue and Prospect Park from 10:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. For alternate service, take the D, F or N trains or free shuttle buses.

Q service is extended to Astoria-Ditmars Boulevard from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

42nd Street Shuttle: The 42nd Street Shuttle will operate overnight from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Monday.

SIR (Staten Island Railway): Staten Island Railway service will be suspended between Tompkinsville and St. George Terminal from 9 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday. For alternate service, take free shuttle buses between Tompkinsville and St. George Terminal:

► St. George Terminal-bound buses will leave from Bay Street and Victory Boulevard.

► Tompkinsville-bound buses will leave from Ramp E.
