NEW YORK — Watch out, Sinatra.

Superstar pop-singer Taylor Swift released Tuesday a new song, “Welcome to New York,” which is set to be the first track her latest album.

“I wanted to start the album with this song because New York has been an important landscape and location for the story of my life in the last couple of years,” said Swift in a teaser video posted on her website.

The 3:32 minute-song, in which Swift describes New York scenes before singing a chorus of “Welcome to New York, it’s been waiting for you,” was made available on iTunes on Tuesday. The 24-year-old singer wrote the song's lyrics with One Republic frontman Ryan Tedder. The website Stereogum has uploaded a full-version of the song.

"Welcome to New York" is the star’s third released song from her upcoming album "1989," which refers to the singer's year of birth. "Out of the Wood" and "Shake it Off" were released in recent months.

"Welcome to New York" and "Shake it off" were iTunes' top songs as of Tuesday afternoon.

The complete album, which is Swift’s fifth studio album, will be released on Oct. 27.

“The inspiration that I found in that city is kind of hard to describe and hard to compare to any other force of inspiration I’ve ever experienced in my life,” the Pennsylvania native said in the video, “I dreamt about moving to New York. I obsessed about moving to New York and then I did it.”

Swift bought a Tribeca apartment in April, according to media reports.

#WelcometoNewYork was one of Twitter’s top hashtags for the New York area on Tuesday, and fans already speculated that the song would replace popular New York anthems such as Jay Z and Alicia Keys’ “Empire State of Mind” and Frank Sinatra’s “New York, New York”.

“#WelcomeToNewYork is the new Empire State of Mind... #ByeAlicia,” @KimberlyDiaries twitted.

“Oh look, it's the new anthem for New York,” @godsewa tweeted.
