ELMHURST — Broadway’s going to be the great, clean way with street sweeping and additional trash pickups.

Councilman Danny Dromm has funded more pickups from Department of Sanitation baskets along Broadway from Roosevelt Avenue to Queens Boulevard in Elmhurst for 20 weeks.

The pickups on Thursdays and Fridays, which started in mid-September, supplement what the DSNY already does on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, according to the councilman.

Dromm also funded street cleaning by The Doe Fund on Broadway between 72nd and 77th streets in Jackson Heights, which he announced earlier this year along with a larger project throughout his district.

It's part of thousands of dollars the city councilman allotted to keeping the streets of Jackson Heights and Corona clean.

Dromm gave $60,000 to The Doe Fund for street cleaning and $15,000 to The Horticultural Society of New York to beautify the Diversity and 78th Street plazas, records show.
