MEATPACKING DISTRICT — One of the Meatpacking District's trendiest clubs is hosting an EDM Halloween party — for 6-year-olds.
Electronic dance music series CirKiz is holding its Halloween party at VIP Room on Oct. 26. The event targets club kids who are literally kids — the party is geared toward 6- to 12-year-olds, though children of all ages are welcome as long as they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. (Adults must be accompanied by a child.)
While the party is held during the day — it goes from 1 to 5 p.m. — the organizers aim to make it an authentic clubbing experience, with a 100-foot LED video wall adding to the vibe.
The event will start with a DJ set by Natalie Weiss, founder of Baby DJ School, who will also be giving free DJ lessons. Jesse Sprague, who organizes the CirKiz parties with his wife, will then DJ with his 8-year-old son, who goes by the name DJ Alden.
Dancers will be on hand to teach lessons and perform, and there will also be a performance by The Dream Lab's light-covered LED Robot.
A "Glow Station" will hold a table full of neon materials for kids to make their own glowing costumes. Prizes will be given out for best costume, best freeze-dancer and best runway walk. There will also be a DJ contest to award a scholarship for a DJ training program.
Tickets are $20 per person, or $15 per person if buying with a group, and can be purchased online.
CirKiz will be held at the VIP Room, 409 W. 13th St., on Oct. 26 from 1 to 5 p.m.
