Service Changes Planned for 16 Subway Lines This Weekend

MIDTOWN — Temperatures are cooling, leaves are changing colors, but weekend subway service changes remain, including no 7 line service between Manhattan and Queens.

Here is the breakdown:

1 Line: Downtown trains will run express from 34th Street-Penn Station to Chambers street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday.

2 Line: Brooklyn-bound trains will run express from 34th Street-Penn Station to Chambers Street from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Saturday.

Brooklyn-bound trains will run express from East 180th Street to 3rd Ave-149th Street from 3:45 a.m. Saturday to 10 p.m. Sunday.

Trains will also run express from Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center to Franklin Avenue from 6 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. Saturday.

3 Line: New Lots Avenue-bound trains will run express from Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center to Franklin Avenue from 6 a.m. to 11:45 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

4 Line: Downtown trains will run local between 125th Street and Grand Central-42nd Street from 11 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday and from 11 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

New Lots Avenue-bound trains will run express from Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center to Franklin Avenue from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Sunday and from 11:45 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

5 Line: Service will be suspended in both directions between East 180th Street and 149th St-Grand concourse from 5:45 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Saturday and from 7:45 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday. Riders can take a 2 train for alternative service.

6 Line: Trains are skipping Zerega Avenue and Buhre Avenue in both directions until February.

►For service to and from Zerega Avenue use the Bx4 or shuttle buses to connect between Zerega Av and Castle Hill Av; a free transfer is available with your MetroCard. 

►For service to and from Buhre Av, use the Bx8, Bx24, or shuttle buses to connect between Buhre Av and Middletown Rd; a free transfer is also available with your MetroCard.

7 Line: Service will be suspended between Times Square-42nd Street and Queensboro Plaza from 2 a.m. Saturday to 4:30 a.m. Monday. Riders can use the E, F, N and Q lines to travel between Manhattan and Queens. Free shuttle buses will make all local stops between Vernon Boulevard-Jackson Avenue and Queensboro Plaza.

The 42nd Street shuttle will also operate overnight and Q service will be extended to Ditmars Boulevard during the day on Saturday and Sunday.

Flushing-bound trains will run less frequently between Queensboro Plaza and 74th Street-Broadway from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. 74th Street-Broadway will be the last stop for some Queensboro Plaza-bound trains.

A Line: Downtown trains will run express from 145th Street to 59th Street from 11 p.m. Friday to 6:30 a.m. Sunday and from 11 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Uptown trains will run express from Canal Street to 168th Street from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Manhattan-bound trains will skip 111th Street in Queens from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. For service to the station, riders can take the Q112 or take a Manhattan-bound train to Rockaway Boulevard and then transferring to a Lefferts Boulevard-bound train.

Manhattan-bound trains will skip 104 St-Oxford Avenue and 88 St-Boyd Avenue in Queens until January.

Manhattan-bound riders traveling to 104th Street will have to go to Rockaway Boulevard and then transfer to a Lefferts Boulevard-bound train. People traveling from 104th Street will have to go one stop east to 111th Street to catch a Manhattan-bound train.

People traveling toward Manhattan to 88th Street will have to ride to 80th Street and transfer to either a Lefferts-bound or Rockaway-bound train. Riders traveling from 88th Street can go one stop east to Rockaway boulevard on a Lefferts-bound or Rockaway-bound train to transfer to a Manhattan-bound train.

C Line: Downtown trains will run express from 145th Street to 59th Street from 6:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

D line: Uptown trains will run express from 145th Street to Tremont Avenue in The Bronx from 10:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Coney Island bound trains will be rerouted over the N line and run local from Dekalb Avenue to 59th Street in Brooklyn from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Bronx-bound trains will run local from 36th Street in Brooklyn to Dekalb avenue from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

F Line: Brooklyn-bound trains will be rerouted over the M line from Roosevelt Avenue to 47-50th Streets-Rockefeller Center from 11:15 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Queens-bound trains will run express from Church Avenue to Jay Street-Metro Tech from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

G Line: Service will be suspended in both directions between Church Avenue and Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets from from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday. Service will operate in two sections:

►Between Long Island City-Court Square and Bedford-Nostrand Avenues;

►Between Bedford-Nostrand Avenues and Hoyt-Schermerhorn Streets every 20 minutes.

N Line: Queens-bound trains will be rerouted over the D line from Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue to 36th Street in Brooklyn from 11:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Coney Island-bound trains will run local from Dekalb Avenue to 59th Street in Brooklyn from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Queens-bound trains will run local from 36th Street in Brooklyn to Dekalb Avenue from 11 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Q Line: Queens-bound trains will run express from Kings Highway to Prospect Park from 10:45 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.

Service will be extended to Astoria-Ditmars Boulevard from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

42nd Street Shuttle: Service will operate overnight from 12:01 a.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Monday.

Franklin Avenue Shuttle: Service will operate every 24 minutes from 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. Saturday.
