NYPD Officer Patrols Richmond Hill in Style
Meet Diana Kaouris, a Richmond Hill police officer who has about a dozen tattoos and who likes to dye her hair in colors ranging from purple to blue. “I like to still be my own person, even though I’m in uniform,” said Officer Kaouris, who is responsible for patrolling Forest Park.

Best New Restaurant in America is in Harlem
You don’t need to travel very far to taste the country’s best food. America’s best new restaurant is The Cecil, a 1-year-old eatery in Harlem, according to Esquire magazine. On The Cecil’s menu: a mix of Brazilian, Caribbean, West African, European and Asian cuisines with prices ranging from $8 to $33.

Only One Pie Face Left in New York
Six Pie Face outposts have recently closed, leaving the Australian chain’s Hell’s Kitchen location as the only spot in the city where costumers can buy the sweet and savory pies.

Thief Disguised Stolen Citi Bike by Painting it Purple
The police caught a Citi Bike thief who had painted the stolen bike purple and then locked it with his personal lock and chain. Despite the paint, police were able to spot the bike's serial number.

Flushing Meadows Becomes a Race Track at Night
Once the sun goes down, the parking lot and the road next to Meadow Lake at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park often become a raceway where dozens of drivers come with revved cars and loud music. Sometimes up to 100 cars race in the park, the NYPD said.

De Blasio Aide Owes Almost $900 in Unpaid Parking Tickets
Rachel Noerdlinger, the embattled first lady’s chief of staff, has nine unpaid parking tickets totaling $875.61. Eight of them were issued since she started working for Bill de Blasio's administration last January. "I know a lot of people who have a lot of parking tickets," de Blasio said when asked about Noerdlinger’s situation.
