QUEENS — This commute was a slam dunk.
Riders on the 7 train were treated to a performance from the Harlem Globetrotters on a recent ride, when nine members of the team boarded the train for a surprise show that was caught on video.
The video shows the Globetrotters dribbling their way through the Mets-Willets Point subway station in Queens, where they board the train for a ride to Times Square while their anthem "Sweet Georgia Brown," plays in the background.
The players — including Stretch Middleton, shown ducking to fit his 7-foot-4-inch frame in the train car — entertain straphangers with tricks, balancing spinning basketballs on their fingertips.
The ride was to celebrate the end of the team's yearly two-week training course, according to a press release.
The Globetrotters will be playing in the New York City-area this holiday season from Dec. 27 to Jan. 3. Tickets and more information can be found on their website.
