NEW YORK CITY — This week, DNAinfo New York reported on a video showing a police officer hitting an unarmed teen with a gun, as well as renovated Inwood apartments that are renting for just $720 per month and a dead black bear cub, likely hit by a car, that was found under bushes in Central Park.

VIDEO: NYPD Officer Hits Unarmed Teen in the Face With His Gun 
A video obtained exclusively by DNAinfo shows two NYPD officers hitting an unarmed 16-year-old marijuana suspect in the face and punching him again several times as the teen was lying on the sidewalk. The officers, both from the 79th Precinct, are under investigation by the NYPD’s Internal Affairs Bureau and the Brooklyn DA.

After Massive Overhaul, Inwood Building Offers $720-per-month Apartments
A 40-unit building located on 552-556 Academy Street is opening its doors next month after it underwent major renovations. The building, which used to be plagued with sagging roofs and floors, is now offering affordable-rate units for low-income residents, with preference given to applicants who currently live in Community Board 12. A one-bedroom unit goes for $720 per month and a two-bedroom unit is set for $1,059. The Department of Housing Preservation and Development is now accepting applications.

Mayor’s Aide and Ex-Con Boyfriend Busted in Car Smelling of Pot
Bill de Blasio’s embattled aide Rachel Noerdlinger and her convicted-killer beau, Haussaun McFarlan, were driving on the wrong side of the street toward oncoming traffic in New Jersey when police stopped them in 2011. Their car strongly smelled pot, according to the police who arrested McFarlan for possession of marijuana. De Blasio has defended Noerdlinger, saying her boyfriend’s actions have no impact on her work.

Bear Cub Likely Hit by Car Found Dead in Central Park
A 6-month-old female black bear was found dead under bushes in Central Park on Monday morning. The necropsy revealed that the cub, which weighed 44 pounds, died of blunt force trauma consistent with a motor vehicle collision. The bear’s origins are still a mystery.

It will be opened in 2114.
