MIDTOWN — A woman was killed when a downtown B train hit her in a Midtown subway station Monday morning, officials said.

The woman, whose name and age were not immediately released, was hit inside the subway station at Seventh Avenue and 53rd Street about 9:50 a.m., according to NYPD and MTA spokesmen.

She was pronounced dead at the scene, an FDNY spokesman said.

Witnesses told police that the woman had walked into the path of the oncoming train, an NYPD spokesman said.

The station was temporarily closed off.

All B trains were suspended between Brighton Beach and 145th Street, the MTA said.

Southbound D trains were running along the C and F lines between Columbus Circle and West Fourth Street, the MTA said.
