DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — Police are looking for a man who allegedly punched a subway rider and called him "stupid" after being bumped while exiting the G train in Downtown Brooklyn.

The straphangers were getting off the train at the Hoyt-Schermerhorn stop on Sept. 5 at about 7:45 a.m. when the 35-year-old victim accidently bumped the suspect, police said.

The suspect, who was wearing a polo shirt and carrying a messenger bag, then socked him in the face, according to the NYPD.

The victim was "in pain" but was not hospitalized, police said.

Police described the suspect as 5-foot-11 and weighing 185 pounds. He was also wearing dark blue jeans and eyeglasses.

Anyone with information is asked to call 800-577-TIPS.
