TRIBECA — A burglar stole nearly $5,000 in cash from upscale TriBeCa restaurant Distilled during an overnight break-in last week, police said.

The thief pried open a side door at the 211 W. Broadway eatery sometime after 1 a.m. on Sept. 26, then made his way to the manager’s basement office. He grabbed a metal safe that contained $4,775, along with a $750 gift certificate to the Conrad Hotel, then he headed out the same door he'd broken open, police said.

Police were still investigating the crime as of Tuesday.

Distilled did not immediately return a request for comment.

Crave did not immediately return a request for comment.

► Two men stole a $1,190 Yves Saint Laurent handbag from the designer’s eponymous shop at 80 Greene St. on Sept. 24 at about 4:30 p.m., police said. According to police, one man distracted a worker, while the other grabbed the pricey bag. The two thieves then ran out of the shop, police said. The store declined to comment.

► Three bags, worth a total of $9,689, were swiped from upscale vintage boutique LXR & Co. on Sept. 24, police said. According to video footage obtained by police, two men swiped the purses — a $1,195 Louis Vuitton bag, a $3,799 Chanel shoulder bag and a $4,695 Chanel bag — by stuffing them in their pants, and then running off at about 5 p.m. from 112 Wooster St. shop.

The store declined to comment.
