EAST ELMHURST — A local wine shop is offering a free class to teach budding oenophiles about Spanish wines.

Addictive Boutique Winery, on 87th Street off Northern Boulevard, is hosting Carlos Iglesias, a former sommelier turned wine importer, at its shop on Thursday, Oct. 2 from 7:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m.

The free class will focus on Spanish wines that are aged in oak, according to the store owners.

Guests will try five different wines, from the newer Crianza wines to a Gran Reserva, which has aged at least five years.

Addictive Boutique hosts free wine classes each month as well as weekly tastings.

Seating is limited for the Oct. 2 event, and guests are encouraged to email info at ABWinery.com by Wednesday to secure a spot.
