WASHINGTON HEIGHTS — A 25-year-old man was shot in the foot late Sunday night after a fight on West 163rd Street, police said.

The victim, who was not identified, was shot in the right foot near his heel shortly before 10:30 p.m. outside 520 W. 163rd St., police said.

He made his own way to New York Presbyterian Hospital where he was treated and released, police said. The shooter fled on foot towards St. Nicholas Avenue, police added.

Neither the victim nor the shooter were at the scene when police arrived. Officers recovered a .45-caliber shell casing and surveillance video from the area, a police source said.

The video shows the victim and the shooter fighting prior to the shooting and police believe the two knew each other.

The suspect is described as being in his 20s, 5-foot-10 and weighing about 175 pounds, police said. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.
