HUNTERS POINT — Bareburger is set to open a location in Long Island City that will offer new menu items like goat burgers and duck bacon sandwiches.

The growing burger chain — which got its start in Astoria in 2009 — will open its latest eatery on 48-19 Vernon Blvd. in Hunters Point in early 2015, according to the company. The LIC Post first reported the news.

"I grew up in Astoria and Long Island City is practically my backyard," Bareburger CEO Euripides Pelekanos said in a statement. "LIC is a vibrant neighborhood and I'm really excited and humbled to be opening another location in my hometown of Queens."

The Long Island City site will offer Bareburger's newly remade menu, which launched recently at its locations in Hoboken and Philadelphia and will be offered at all of its restaurants by the end of the year.

It includes a goat burger option — joining Bareburger's unique roster of meats, which already includes choices like elk and wild boar patties — as well as a duck bacon sandwich that's topped with gouda, a fried egg and tomato fig jam.

New vegan options will include a sweet potato and wild rice burger, a smoked tempeh sandwich and a crispy Brussels sprouts salad.

The Long Island City location will also offer a new brunch menu.

Bareburger, which emphasizes the use of organic and all-natural ingredients, has more than a dozen locations in the city as well as restaurants in Philadelphia, New Jersey, Connecticut and Ohio, according to its website.
