ASTORIA — Dozens of neighborhood eateries will offer special menus for a week-long celebration of Astoria's culinary scene that aims to showcase the neighborhood as a dining destination with dishes like chocolate stout bacon cheesecake and pork-wrapped pork, organizers said.

Astoria Restaurant Week will run Sept. 19 to Sept. 28, with a number of eateries offering prix fixe menus and other specials. It will kick off with a tasting event on Tuesday at Astoria Bank, where a number of local eateries will be giving out samples of their best dishes.

"It's been kind of like a well-guarded secret that Astoria is a very, very good dining destination," said Armando Tejeda of the business consulting group Triangulum Services, which is hosting the event with the Queens Chamber of Commerce.

"The whole purpose of this is, one, to bring the dining community of Astoria together, and also to bring some of the business from Manhattan to Astoria to dine," he said.

His colleague David Paxton said that the event is "definitely bringing the foodie culture of Astoria to greater New York."

The 10-day food festival will launch Tuesday night with "Eat in Astoria," where restaurants like The Thirsty Koala, Vesta Vino and others will be serving up food.

The Sparrow Tavern will serve a multi-layered pork dish, according to organizers — pork shoulder wrapped in pork fat and special herbs, wrapped in pork belly — while tapas bar La Rioja will offer its jamon serrano, a Spanish ham.

Tickets for the event, which will take place at 37-16 30th Ave., cost $49 and can be purchased here.

Astoria Restaurant Week continues on Friday and ends Sept. 28. Diners who want to participant will need to sign up for a "Foodie Pass" on the Eat in Astoria website, which will entitle them to deals at participating restaurants.

The offers will vary depending on the eatery, though many will be offering prix fixe menus for $25, $35 or $45, according to organizers.

Sunswick, for example, is teaming up with Barrier Brewing Company to offer a three course meal and beer pairings for $25, including dishes like a slow-cooked short rib sandwich and a chocolate stout bacon cheesecake, according to the bar's Facebook page.

Italian eatery Trattoria L'incontro will be offering a $30 prix fixe menu, with options like an eggplant rollatini and Icelandic cod, according to the Eat in Astoria website.
