ROCKAWAY BEACH  The beaches may be closed, but summer isn't over just yet.

The Indian Summer Food & Drink Festival hopes to keep the vibe going with a three-weekend bar crawl and food tour that highlights the food of the peninsula and offers drink specials.

The event starts Sept. 6 and continues each weekend through Sept. 27, according to the organizers.

A ticket, which ranges in price from $20 to $25 if purchased day-of, offers food and drink deals at 20 different places on the peninsula.

You can enjoy longer happy hours, 2-for-1 deals and discounts at places throughout Rockaway, including Caracas Arepa Bar, which is knocking $3 off any arepa; Playland Motel, which is taking half-off its specialty cocktails; and The Rock Wine Bar, which will take 10 percent off the entire bill.

Tickets can be purchased online or at the Indian Summer location on Beach 96th Street, across the street from Rockaway Taco.
