EAST HARLEM — Police are seeking a suspect they believe fatally stabbed a man Friday morning during a fight that broke out in a line for a Second Avenue methadone clinic.
A woman that tried to intervene in the scuffle was also wounded.
Gerardo Madera, 36, was waiting out front of the Harlem East Life Plan methadone clinic near East 122nd Street about 5:45 a.m. when he and Carlos Molina, 56, got into a fight, according to the NYPD.
Molina stabbed Madera in the torso and then stabbed a 48-year-old woman's wrist as she tried to intervene before fleeing the scene, police said.
Molina is five feet five inches tall and 135 pounds with a tattoo around his neck and another tattoo of a woman on his arm.
Madera, who lived at 258 Wott Avenue in The Bronx, was taken to Harlem Hospital and pronounced dead, according to the NYPD. The woman, whose name was not released, was treated at Metropolitan Hospital and was in stable condition Friday morning, police said.
