MANHATTAN — A man was in critical condition after being struck by a car as he was crossing Amsterdam Avenue in Morningside Heights Wednesday night, NYPD said.

The man, who is in his 20s, was crossing Amsterdam Avenue at West 116th Street when a 2008 Lincoln traveling north on Amsterdam Avenue hit him at about 9:30 p.m., police said.

The man was rushed to St. Luke’s Hospital in critical condition with severe head trauma, police said.

The driver remained on scene and was not hurt, officials said.

A surveillance video showed the pedestrian running into the street against the light, police said.
